SUMMARY:Mural Project with Artist Andee Rudloff
DESCRIPTION:We are honored to announce that we’ve received a “Supporting LGBTQ+ Youth Through the Creative Arts” grant through CenterLink: The Community of LGBT Centers\, MTV Entertainment Studios and RuPaul’s Drag Race. We’ll be putting that grant to use with a mural project!\n\n\n\nCome out for a little while or a long while between 9:30am and 12 noon on Saturday\, July 12 at First Christian Church\, 1106 State St.\, to help paint a new mural. No special skills needed. Come ready to get messy. Water and fun also provided.\n\n\n\nWhile this work of art will be a demonstration of support and empowerment for our LGBTQ+ youth\, it is also an opportunity to engage their creativity in the process alongside a supportive community. Everyone is invited to come help paint!\n\n\n\nHuge thanks to our dear friend and local artist Artist Andee Rudloff for leading this project! We are incredibly grateful and excited!

DESCRIPTION:It’s the third annual Pride Month Worship Service at First Christian Church\, and this year’s theme is Renewed.\nFCC was a founding sponsor of Bowling Green’s annual Pride festival and has been a primary sponsor ever since. It hosted the first ever Pride worship service in Bowling Green\, houses and serves as fiscal sponsor for us\, SOKY Alliance\, has on-going LGBTQ+ specific small groups\, and has had countless LQBTQ+ folks as leaders in the life of the church.\nWe are so excited to continue this collaboration\, with Desmond Anthony preaching\, and continue the work of having open\, welcoming\, brave and affirming spaces.

Plus\, they will be performing a song by our very own leadership chair Dr. Matt Herman!\n\nFrom Wesley King\, Artistic Director of Nashville in Harmony: (NIH). NIH is a 130-voice LGBTQ and Ally chorus from Nashville\, TN. We are taking 100 of those 130 voices and our concert on the road this June\, and would love to invite you to join us!\nThe concert will be held at First Christian Church in Bowling Green\, KY (1106 State St. Bowling Green\, KY 42101) at 6pm on Sunday\, June 15th. It’ll last about an hour and half. Admission is free but donations are welcomed. We are a 501c3 nonprofit and donations are tax deductible.\n\nOur concert is titled Songs for a New South. This concert is a reclamation of what we believe “southern values” to be. To us\, southern values are: diversity\, inclusion\, hope\, resiliency\, mercy\, and love. All of our music this season is written by Southern composers and highlights marginalized voices.
